Take your time. Your Trezor will guide you through setup, and your recovery backup is the most important part to complete carefully.

In a new browser tab, type trezor.io/start yourself. Check the address carefully before continuing. Trezor Suite is the companion app for setting up your device and managing your crypto.
Follow the on-screen instructions to download Trezor Suite for your operating system, or continue in the browser when available. Only download software from Trezor’s official website.
Suite will help install the latest firmware and verify that your device is genuine. Confirm prompts on the device screen itself; your Trezor is designed to keep sensitive actions in your hands.
Choose to create a new wallet and carefully record the recovery seed shown on your device. Write it on paper and store it privately offline. Never photograph it, share it, or enter it into a website.
Set a PIN directly on your Trezor, then open Trezor Suite to explore your wallet. Start with a small test transaction when you are ready, and always verify the address on your device screen.
Your recovery seed gives access to your wallet. Anyone who sees it can take your funds. Trezor support will never ask you to share it, and you should never type it into a website, chat, or email. Keep the written backup offline, private, and somewhere safe from damage. Consider making a second written copy and storing it in a separate secure location. Check that every word is legible before putting the backup away, and keep it away from curious visitors, cameras, and connected devices. If you already have a wallet, do not enter its existing recovery seed into a setup prompt unless you understand exactly what the action does.

Setup looks a little different depending on your device and operating system. The official Trezor support center has detailed instructions, troubleshooting tips, and answers about keeping your wallet secure. If Suite does not recognize your device, try another USB port or cable and confirm that your browser or computer is up to date. Follow the official troubleshooting steps rather than downloading utilities from search ads or unsolicited messages. When in doubt, pause and verify the address of the support page before continuing; protecting your backup is always more important than rushing through setup.
